MG L2 Magna 1934

Here we have it - MG L2 Magna - no. 58 off the production line of 90 cars. Arriving in New Zealand in 1935.

It was hill climbed for a while in the late '50's running a 1622cc BMC with Weber side draught carb which replaced the original 1087cc overhead cam six cylinder engine. Most likely to clean up all the competition - power to weight ratio for the time would have been phenomenal!
The early '60's saw coachwork replacing the Ash frame with tudular steel componentry.

The latest chapter is the purchase of a K series 1087cc six cylinder returning that part back to normal. I'm keeping an eagle eye for required parts that surface on the net or otherwise.

As time and money allow L2 will get its much deserved new lease of life. Anyone seeing this with any interesting spares kicking around in the shed.....do get in touch if you want to get floor space back again :-)
